This is a gorgeous necklace featuring an iridescent 'ruby green' cameo head set under clear resin to give it a beautiful depth and shine. Includes chain.

Due to the lighting in the photos, it appears lighter and a touch more golden than in real life. In person, there is so much more depth of colour, with the outline of the figure coloured in a naturally occuring dark rust shade, while the dark greenish iridescence floats over top. Absolutely stunning and excellent for the fall and winter colour pallette. Final photo in the series is of the matte version to illustrate the darker shades of the piece.

About the Dolorous Cameos:

One day, artisan Danielle of Dolorous came across a beautifully preserved antique cameo. The design was wonderful and deserved to be highlighted, so she decided to try recreating the look using modern techniques (originally cameos were made out of carved shells and were very delicate).

Her success came by creating a mold of the cameo and casting it in various shades of resin. Mixing finishes and sometimes glitter she created a stunning collection of contemporary cameos that still remain true to the original design.

Each one is painstakingly cast, sometimes with multple layers and set in a bezel pendant. Hardy yet delicate, they are a modern homage to romantic times past.
